Publication of a journal is always a proud achievement for any association. After all, a journal is the face of the association to members and the scientific community. It is a sign of coming-of-age, an announcement that the association has taken wings! And when this is done by a state association, it is also a matter of admiration and appreciation – at the vision and ability of the members.

Indian Journal of Drugs in Dermatology or IJDD has a niche and fills a void and I am sure will be welcomed by all dermatologists. Our members will have a reference for this very important aspect of dermatology. The journal provides a welcome opportunity for Indian dermatologists to remain updated on various developments and advances occurring in the field of science of drugs in dermatology. This will help in better management of our patients and will ensure maximum drug safety and judicious use of drugs in day-to-day dermatology practice.

Dr. Sushil Pande, our young and dynamic dermatologist, and his editorial team deserves full appreciation and acknowledgment. Similarly, Dr. Uday Khopkar, Dr. Vijay Zawar, and Sheetal Poojary and other office bearers of Maharashtra branch who are actively involved in this endeavor also deserve our appreciation. Maharashtra branch is one of our most efficient branches of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) and this precious contribution from its side will further enhance its stature.

I hope that the journal will soon get indexed and be another beacon of Indian dermatology and IADVL.
